The Dread Captain's Chest

Prologue

Lil' Johnny Bronze asked to meet me. 

He said he had story. 

Lil' Johnny's stories were not to be missed, so I arranged to meet him in a seedy bar in Blackhawk.

THE BLACK SWAIN: Tell Me A Tale

Blackhawk was besieged by sea monsters. 

We had a meeting organized there with Lil' Johnny Bronze, 

so we needed to break the siege and make our way through. 

Lil' Johnny loved a good story, 

so we decided to collect some Sea Monster Horns to show him when we arrived.

[ Defeat enemies, and collect their Horns. ]

Lil' Johnny's stories were always entertaining, but this one also had a ring of truth about it. 

It involved the legendary treasure of Dread Captain Grim - Johnny believed he might know how to find it. 

The first step involved tracking down a sketchy Goblin named Slughoarder.

Mantis Shrimp [ Claw Punch ] Onetwothree, Deathpunch! 

Mosasaurus [ Gaping Maw ] Life finds a way.

Zaejin [ The Goblins' Hideout ] Zaejin is a chaotic mess of small Goblin villages, scavenging and fighting to survive.

Slughoarder [ Wheel & Deal ] Livin’ the slug life.

Bomb Rider [ Chariot of Fire ] He’s da bomb!

BEJEWELED: Tower of Doom

We found the map - it was real! 

But we couldn't read it. 

It was encrypted in an old mariner's cant. 

I thought Johnny may have known it, but it turned out he couldn't read in ANY language. 

The Waterborn Scribes of Nexus would certainly know it though.

BOLT FROM THE BLUE: Journey

We finished journeying across Dragon's Claw, following in Dread Captain Grim's footsteps.

The stars pointed us towards Hellcrag next. 

It would be good to stop in and visit the Herald of Torpor and see how they were doing. 

Dragon's Claw [ Birthplace of Dragons ] High atop these mountains live many Dragons, and their servants, the Dragonians. 

Huntmaster Arborius [ Winged Shot ] He’s comin’ right at me...

Cobalt Drake [ Snapping Jaws ] You… Shock me all night long!

CURSED KITTY: The Dread Trail

Hellcrag was a relatively new Kingdom in Krystara, and that always left a lot of unhappy neighbours. 

This time it was the Dragons. 

The Herald of Torpor asked for our help in holding back their latest foes as they continued to rebuild their city.

[ Defeat Dragons and collect Dragon Scales to construct wards to protect Hellcrag. ]

We left Hellcrag behind us. 

It looked like we would need a boat, and the nearest port where we'd find a sturdy one was in the Blighted Lands.

Hellcrag [  Realm of Statues ] This inhabitants of this kingdom were turned to stone by Medusa long ago.

Herald of Torpor [ Night of Terror ] Someone called him lazy today. He almost replied. 

Stone Panther [ Rock Swipe ] If he was stone deaf, would he be a Deaf Leopard?

Elemaugrim [ Last Shadow ] In darkest day, in blackest night. 

Matron Dragotani [ Fields of Ice ] Keep Calm and Drag-on. 

Essencia [ Spirit Augury ] Essencia great disturbance in the Force. 

Lord Ember [ Draconic Glory ] He likes to get into heated arguments. 

Red Ahriman [ Incantation ] You're a wizard, Ahri! 

Dragonmoth [ Infrared ] Like a Dragonmoth to a flame.

SHIP OF THE DAMNED: Invasion

We had a ship - the Infernal Voyager! 

Usually ships and fire, didn't go together very well, but when you're in the Blighted Lands, your options are limited. 

The stars led us towards Darkstone. 

Blighted Lands [ The Abyssal Portal ] The Blighted Lands contain a portal to the Abyssal Realm, home of Daemons. They are ruled by the Infernal King.

The Iron Maiden [ Wave of Fire ] The Trooper.

Infernal Voyager [ Sea of Souls ] Adventure!

WICKED WITCH OF THE WET: Tower of Doom

Darkstone, as always, was dangerous. 

After a nasty encounter with some Sea Hags, we checked the constellations.

 They pointed us west. 

Hopefully we were getting close. 

Darkstone [ The Isle of the Cruel Lords ] Once a shining beacon in the Elder Sea, Darkstone's Lords became corrupt and evil many

Sea Hag [ Tidal Curse ] I admit that in the past I've been nasty...

RAY OF HOPE: Raid Boss

We weren't close at all. 

The stars led us all the way to Merlantis. 

And what was worse, they now pointed north… could the treasure be in Silverglade? 

Silverglade [ The Seat of High Magic ] The Archmages of Silverglade command the oldest and most powerful magic in Krystara.

OVER EASY: Journey

Finally we found the treasure in Silverglade! It was real. 

Lil' Johnny was overcome; he did a jig so lively that his leg fell off and sank into the ocean! 

We sailed back to Blackhawk, and although Johnny had to sit most of the way, he had plenty of treasure to get himself a new gold leg when we arrived.
