PRICE TO PAY: InThe End

It wasn't always easy to find help in Khetar, but the Assessor of Mahat was unusually helpful.

If we would collect bones for them, and some dark gems, they agreed to cast an augury so we could learn more about any new Death God.

There was no sign of anything unusual in Khetar. 

Tassarion suggested we head to Pan's Vale - it wasn't too far, and the Fallen Satyrs there might know some more.

Khetar [ Kingdom of Bones ] Ancient Khetar fell many centuries ago, but its dead still walk the land.

Assessor of Mahat [ Speak with Dead ] The Internal Revenant Service.

Tassarion [ Forbidden Lore ] It is one thing to be clever and another to be wise. 

Rath-Amon [ Moon Guardian ] The Life and Soul of the party.

Bone Dragon [ Strip Flesh ] He's cool. Nothing gets under HIS skin. 

Ankhnum [ Curse Seal ] Likes to kid around. 

Apophisis [ Caduceus ] She has a hissterical laugh. 

Jakal the Guardian [ Icy Doom ] A Jackal of all Trades... 

Revenant [ Vengeance ] Vengeance is a dish best served with a really large glowing sword.

The Council of Fallen Satyrs were certainly one of the creepier groups we'd sought information from. 

As always, they wanted a trade.

The advice from the Fallen Satyrs was simple. 

If anybody would know of a Death God, it would be the followers of other Gods - particularly those of War and Death. A lot of travelling was going to be involved, so we headed to Adana to see if we could get some help.

Pan's Vale [ The Land of Ancient Songs ] The Wood Spirits and Satyrs of Pan's Vale live a peaceful and frivolous life.

High King Irongut [ In the Pot ] Gumbo, Gumbo in the pot... 

King Highforge [ 1000 Year Grudge ] The King under the Mountain. 

Crimson Bat [ Blood Feast ] He started out as the Red Bat, but found that simply wasn't very scary. 

Lady Ironbeard [ Shield Bash ] Judge me by my size, do you? 

Fundingus [ Purple Spores ] Fungal in the Jungle. 

Flesh Golem [ Pulverize ] With that many mouths, no wonder he has a weight problem.

Tesla had a new Steam Carriage that she was excited to test out. 

We volunteered, and Tesla asked us to take it and help some of the nearby Tinker Dwarves in their mines to run it through its paces.

Tesla provided us with a Horseless Carriage to aid in our travels. 

Our first stop would be Stormheim. 

Jotnar was reliable, if not always friendly, and the Giants followed all the Gods of War. Perhaps they would know something.

BIG BONED: Storm's Call

Jotnar was out of sorts. 

Undead Giants were rising in his realm. 

We offered to help, hoping to receive some information in return.

Jotnar knew very little, but the appearance of the Grave Giants was ominous. 

Our next stop would be Grosh-Nak. 

The Mouth of Zorn, the Orcish War Deity, was easy to bribe and talkative. 

It seemed like fair chance to learn something.

Stormheim [ The Land of Giants ] The Mountains of Stormheim are inhabited by many ferocious tribes of Giants.

The Mouth of Zorn was waiting for his bribe. 

He was helpful if you fed him enough. 

Food was ALWAYS the answer here.

Iron Vlasta, the leader of the Bear Cult - a prominent Death and War Cult in Urskaya - was under siege by Undead. 

We needed to fight our way through to him.

FLOWER CHILD: The Forest's Daughter 

The Daughter of Yasmine was as close as we could get to directly talking to a God. 

Out of respect, we collected rare herbs to offer her upon our arrival.

The Daughter of Yasmine finally had some real information. 

Yasmine had sent her a vision. 

The Death God was called Aravata, and was rising in the Pridelands. 

She told us that our best chance lay in raising an army of light, whatever that meant. 

Light? 

Perhaps our destination of Bright Forest was a good idea!

Forest of Thorns [ The Elven Woods ] The forest's Wood Elves live in ornate dwellings, high amidst the treetops.

Daughter of Yasmine [ Spring Buds ] The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Gloom Leaf [ Corruption ] Emo-tree is not amused. 

Swamplash [ Twisting Vines ] You thought they only smelt bad on the outside. 

Forest Troll [ Smother ] Run Forest Run! 

Earth Dreamer [ Crown of Leaves ] I dreamed a dream in times gone by.

IN THE SUMMERTIME: Dark Portents

Queen Titania was difficult to deal with. 

She was doubtful this Death God actually existed. 

We offered to collect evidence, and in exchange - if she was convinced - she would send some Sun Sprites with us.

Queen Titania had felt the presence of a new God too. 

It disturbed her greatly. 

She agreed to send her Sun Sprites with us, to the Pridelands. 

We'd need a real army though, so we headed for Whitehelm.

DOMINION OVER ALL: Army of Light

Dominion, the Angel of War, greeted us outside of Whitehelm with an offer. 

If we were worthy, he would raise an army of knights to march with us.

Dominion, the Angel of War, agreed to help us. 

Along with many Knight from Whitehelm. 

So we began the long march to Pridelands to confront Aravata.

Whitehelm [ The Land of Faith ] The tall white and gold temples of Whitehelm are magnificent to behold.

Dominion [ Victorious Smite ] Nothing is more gratifying to the mind of man than power or dominion.

The Scourge of Honor [ Vermin Plague ] I smell a rat... 

Infernal King [ Inferno ] I shall live forever! Or die trying.

Wrath [ Burning Fury ] U Mad Bro? 

Helgor the Guardian [ Burning Bulwark ] I am a servant of the secret fire! 

Indolator of Sloth [ Slow Demise ] Lazy boi 

Twisted Hero [ Fallen Valor ] We don't need another hero.  

IVORY TRAIL: Facing Death

Finally, we approached the birthing place of Aravata. 

Fortunately the God had not yet emerged. 

Quickly we lay siege and began slowly encroaching upon the birthing portal.

Fortunately, Aravata had not fully emerged into this world, and after a long battle we were victorious. 

But where DID Gods come from? 

How were they born into these realms? 

Questions for another time perhaps, but disturbing ones.
