The Adanian Reactor
Sparkgrinder REALLy hated cats. He'd been reasonably well behaved since the Carnex incident, but it seems he just saw one cat too many and finally snapped. By the time we heard about his latest creation, things had already gone horribly wrong. |
MINE MINE MINE: Mech Malfunction Sparkgrinder's latest creation, the Sparkinator, had been built and programmed to destroy all cats. Of course, it had immediately malfunctioned and made a mess. [Help Sparkgrinder clean up by collecting debris and lost gears.] The immediate mess had been cleaned up, but the Sparkinator was still active. It headed for Whitehelm, still looking for cats. Fortunately Sparkgrinder had some mechanical horses upon which we could give chase. ADANA [ The Kingdom of Progress ] Adana is known as a center of learning and technology. Alchemists and Engineers thrive in this city.
Sparkgrinder [ Upgrade ] If it's not broke, fix it anyway!
Carnex [ Chain Reaction ] Who's just an itty-bitty giant puppy dog?

MY METAL PONY: Whitehelm Derby The Sparkinator sure was fast! Sparkgrinder's Mechanical Horses proved quite valuable in chasing it, and only malfunctioned three times. Unfortunately the Knights in Whitehelm were NOT happy to see us. [Clear Knights from your path, as you collect tracks to follow the Sparkinator.] We chased the Sparkinator back and forth across Whitehelm, but it was just too fast. It headed towards the Forest of Thorns and we followed. Sparkgrinder had a friend there whom he said might help - Lord Archimedus, the Owlbear Lord.
Mechamare [Iron Hoof] Their spirit would never be broken.
FOREST OF THORNS [The Elven Woods] The forest's Wood Elves live in ornate dwellings, high amidst the treetops.

High Paladin [Divine Glory] Dude, I'm so high right now.
|
HOO’S THE BOSS?: Wise Old Owl Sparkgrinder's friend Lord Archimedus offered his help in exchange for ours. He asked us to remove some Orcish invaders from his part of the forest. [Collect trinkets from the invaders to prove you've hlped Lord Archimedus] By the time we'd helped Lord Archimedus, the Sparkinator had already moved on - towards Karakoth this time. As we approached that broken land we saw it! It was digging for something. KARAKOTH [The Land of Ancient Gods] The towers of Warlocks dot the ruined land of Karakoth, as their masters search for ancient secrets.

LET SLEEPING GODS LIE: Containing Chaos The Sparkinator, while digging, had unearthed an ancient god, Uvhash-Ka. Ferit insisted we banish it before continuing our chase for the rogue mech. [Defeat the god and its monions, by collecting glyphs and banishing them all.] By the time we'd stopped Uvhash-Ka, the Sparkinator had - of course - moved on, leaving a trail of diggings as it headed towards Zhul'Kari. We followed ZHUL'KARI [The Heart of Darkness] The dense forests of Zhul'Kari make this a kingdom of eternal night. Uvhash-Ka [Beyond the Veil] Only poetry or madness could do justice to the noises.
Abhorath [Devour the World] The Old Gods are SO last year.
Eldritch Minion [Supplication] Eldritch Banana?
Green Slime [Sludge] I've seen enough tentacles to know where this is heading...

Draxxius [Killing Word] Red and loving it!

WEB OF LIES: The Spiders Toll The Dark Elves were trouble. It seemed they were already fighting the Sparkinator, and they blocked our passage. Sparkgrinder offered to make them some mechanical spiders if they'd let us pass, and they agreed. [Collect spiders to help Sparkgrinder's work.] The Dark Elves allowed us to pass through Zhul'Kari - we had a lot of ground to make up, but a definite trail of the Sparkinator's diggings to follow. It had backtracked, and a LONG journey led us to the borders of Ghulvania where unfortunately we found a destroyed tomb.
GHULVANIA [Princedom of the Blood] This dark and gloomy kingdom is ruled by cruel and oppressive Vampire Lords.
Arachnaean Weaver [Abyssal Strands] Nope!
Webspinner [Venom Weave] Looks like she came straight out of Module Q1. If you get that reference, you're HARDCORE.
Tomb Spider [Snaring Hunt] As if tombs weren't creepy enough.
Spinnerette [Shadow Weave] You spin me right round.
Aransi the Guardian [Guardian Web] Mom says I spend too much time on the web.
Giant Spider [Swarm] He invented the World Wide Web.

HOT HEADED:Ghulvania Journey
Deathclaw the Griffon had been laid to rest (again), and the trail of diggings led north towards Maugrim Woods. The Wargare were great trackers, perhaps they could help us catch it! MAUGRIM WOODS [The Wolves of the Wilds] Hostile tribes of Wargare - the wolf people - live deep within Maugrim Woods.
Deathclaw [Death Screech] Before he died, was he called Lifeclaw?

SPEAK WITH DEAD: Ancestral Revenge The Sparkinator had been here... In fact it had crushed a Wargare chieftain in his sleep. His spirit met us at the borders of the wood, and offered its help. [Defeat creatures in the woods and collect clues as you track the mech.] Ancestor Brodir had been laid to rest, and it seemed the Sparkinator had finally found what it was digging for - it had uncovered the old Underworld Gate, and crossed over. We were no strangers to the Underworld, so we followed it. Ancestor Brodir [Spirit Pack] All dog go to heaven… except him.

Moonsinger [Wolf Blade] Howl to make friends and influence people.

FURY ROAD: Grand Theft Mech The Sparkinator was loose in the Underworld. Sparkgrinder suggested we find something to fight it. We were close to Tarterus' Siege Base, so we thought we might be able to liberate something useful. [Defeat Daemons to collect components.] With one of Tarterus' war machines under our control, we followed the Sparkinator - it seemed to know precisely where it was going! Sparkgrinder finally had a good idea - he suggested that next time we fought his mech, we should maybe remove its powersource - the Adanian Reactor.
Tartarus [Hellish Rebuke] I say TarTARus. You say TarTERus.
Nyar'Mel [Realm of Confusion] Nyar, Nyar, Nyar!

TECH SUPPORT: To Catch A Thief If we were going to remove the Reactor from the Sparkinator, it made sense to recruit a master thief. We quickly made our way to the City of Thieves. [Steal some treasures for the King of Thieves, so you're owed a favor.] Corbin joined us - it seemed like a good idea to have an ally who might be able to quickly remove the power source from the rogue mech. Everything else we tried against it seemed to have no lasting effect.
Elemaugrim [Last Shadow] In darkest day, in blackest night.
Ishtara [Radiant Explosion] You think regular Gods are scary? Imagine Dragons.
Baphomet [Fiery Rampage] The Destrier of Worlds.
Bile Blackheart [Blood Tithe] Why do villains always choose such lame names?

CRAZY CAT LADY: Cat Rescue It was cats all along! The Sparkinator had been heading towards Indrajit's Palace - home of the Daemon Raksha. Now was our chance to defeat and remove its power source, the Adanian Reactor. [Overload The Sparkinator with the essences of Elementals to slow it down.] The Sparkinator had finally been shut down. There were minimal damages to Indrajit's forces. We removed the core of the mech's powersource - the Adanian Reactor - before giving it back to Sparkgrinder. He looked a little disappointed, but he was the only one. Indrajit's Palace [Palace of the Daemon Raksha] Indrajit and his servants are regarded with much suspicion. They deal in all manner of unsavory goods.
Mistralus [Hurricane] People always said she was long winded...
King Heliodor [Stone Dominion] Check out those rock-hard abs!
